UK Xmas Virgin

Hey all,
This is my first winter Christmas ever since moving to London earlier this year so I'm really excited. Obviously we celebrate xmas but like no where near to the level you do here so this year I want to get involved in the festivities. I've already bought an xmas sweater and planning to get a tree for my flat so my question is what are the must do's for a British Christmas. Any suggestions will be appreciated, cheesier the better. Also a fun side question: what sort of Xmas traditions do you have, like one I had with my sister was on xmas eve watching Love Actually and then going out to look at xmas lights.

I've always wanted to go see the Trafalgar Square tree as I find the fact that it is donated by Norway interesting, though just a tree at the end of the day but if you're close by it might be worth going to the "opening" of that which I think is December 1st?
Cheese is a good idea though, lots of cheese.

Aside from that, I have nothing to suggest.

Lots of TWINKLING LIGHTS they make it feel so Christmassy and also all the great/awful Christmas music to get reallllllly involved go to a carol service or two and see a pantomime

carols by candlelight services, Christmas panto, gareth gates in ours this year. Lmao

Was just about to say this! The Birmingham Christmas Market opens today! (Thursday!) I've never actually been, but I'm going this year Probably Friday haha!

Winter Wonderland in Cardiff is awesome, did you go to that when you visited Cardiff last weekend?


Watching bands playing and choirs singing is always super festive I love doing late night Christmas shopping!

Yes, I got lots of cheese samples from the cheese man so he got mad at me but like don't offer samples then. I'm always going to take advantage.
