Default Is it okay for your ex's parents to still speak with you?

So I run into a rather weird incident here and there. My ex's mom speaks with me occasionally. Either wishing me a happy holiday or asking if I've been taking care of myself. Today she asked what happened between the two of us and we talked about it.

Just find it hilarious. Do you think it's okay?

What happened between the two of you.

    I don't see why not.

I kinda think it's a bit weird. The parents should just let you move on.

To be honest, my ex's dad probably hates me because I found a new partner very quickly, but his dad was a snobby sort of person anyway!

However, it's actually the opposite for me - my ex speaks to my parents, my sister and my sister's boyfriend! I haven't seen my boyfriend since we broke up, but my ex has been in my house, has been to the Slimming World where my mum goes, has been on gigs with my sister and her boyfriend, walks with my sister etc.

It's not that I mind it - as long as I don't have to see him that's fine, and my sister was friends with him before we went out so I'm not going to begrudge her a friendship. It would only become a problem if they expected me to be fine for him to come in my house (he was only dropping off some magazines when he came last time and luckily I was out) if I'm in - I wouldn't be happy with that, nor would I be happy seeing him at all.

So really, yeah they can still talk, it might depend on why you broke up though! I still have @Shockwave.2CC;'s mum on Facebook and we have spoken occasionally and it's fine!

From what I've seen it seems quite common.

I don't talk to my ex's parents. Not because I don't want to, but because I they don't even live in the same city and they are the type of people who do not have social media. (thank god)

    Insecurity and uninterest.

If it were just that then we would have left on good terms. But 3 days after I broke up from my year+ relationship, I was replaced, so that really broke the deal for me.
