Man gets 5 years for electrical taping his dog's muzzle

I like the smell of justice. A man from South Carolina gets to spend 5 years in prison for wrapping his dogs muzzle in electrical tape to stop her from barking. The man received the maximum sentence.

The judge who sentenced him said: "I wish I could give you more." Hell yeah! Hate animal cruelty.

5 years is maybe a lot considering people who have murdered have ended with smaller sentences. Still a cruel thing though.

I don't know how some people can live with themselves when they are either abusing or neglecting a mammal that;
A. Cannot speak so cannot defend themselves
B. An innocent creature

reminds me of that story i saw recently where two high school kids hung one of their dog and apparently nobody really cared?? anybody heard of this story? was in the us
