For this task, all 14 contestants are locked in an individual jail cell. Each player has the key to unlock their cell, but unfortunately each cell also has a magnetic lock.
This magnetic lock will randomly deactivate (we call this its 'unlock period'). Each time it deactivates the contestant is able to use their key and leave their jail cell.
Each 'unlock period' is 5 minutes long, meaning there is a 5 minute time period that you could escape your cell. Each cell has 12 'unlock periods', meaning altogether your magnetic lock will be deactivated for a total of 60 minutes over the course of the task. These 'unlock periods' have been randomly generated to be spread over the course of this task. No individual 'unlock periods' overlap each other, but different contestants will have 'unlock periods' that overlap each others 'unlock periods'.
To try and leave your cell, a contestant will need to post in bold: I try to unlock my cell
You will be informed whether or not you were successful. Contestants may continue to try to unlock their cell, even if they did not have a reply to their previous attempt. Contestants are allowed unlimited attempts at unlocking their cell.
Every time a contestant successfully leaves their cell, they will have a prize to choose from. These prizes will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. If two contestants leave their cells at the same time, whichever contestants picks their prize first will be prioritised. Contestants will need to post which prize they want to pick in bold once they have left their cell.
The prizes include:
+10p to the group prize fund [10 prizes available]
Exemption [1 prize available]
Exemption+ [1 prize available]
Neutralisation [1 prize available]
Double unlock time [1 prize available] (Changes the 'unlock period' duration from 5 minutes to 10 minutes for the rest of the task)
Bonus unlock periods [1 prize available] (Each contestant will have 15 'unlock periods' over the course of the task instead of 12)
Unlock periods remaining [1 prize available] (Every time a contestant tries to unlock their cell and they are unsuccessful, they are told how many unlock periods they have left)
This means there is a maximum of £1 up for grabs for this task.
First contestants need to decide what cell they will each enter. To do this, the group needs to collectively decide to rank the group from 1 (Most likely to be up in the middle of the night) to 14 (Least likely to be up in the middle of the night). To decide this, the list must be posted in bold, and then confirmed, in bold, by two other players. Once this is accepted, contestants may begin trying to unlock their cell.
The task will end at 8pm BST on Thursday 16th April, or when all contestants have escaped their jail cells.
Good luck!
