Cumbre Vieja, on Spain's island of La Palma, erupts for the first time since 1971

The volcanic footage coming out of La Palma in Spain's Canary Islands is just jaw dropping right now 🌋

Previous eruption was 1971 and 1949 before that.

Beautiful images.

Only two days ago I was on it's sister island Tenerife (80 miles west) and went to the top of it's sister volcano, Mount Teide.

I was looking at the lava flows from each eruption and it is remarkable how much material is pushed out even in small eruptions.

Now I'm pages deep into watching videos of this happening lol

I love watching volcanic eruptions especially ones like this its just pretty watching the lava flow down.
Not good for people who live in the areas tho having their homes burnt down, that's the risk of living near active volcanoes.

The lava flow has now reached the sea.

La Palma is getting just that little bit bigger.
