we wouldn't have people from the future here if time travel was possible because in order for them to come to us a time machine would have to exhist and since it doesn't future people cannot come to our time.

a black hole and a worm hole (time travel occurs in worm holes) are completely different. I've just been reading wiki. its quite interesting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time#Time_as_.22unreal.22

sorry for double post. i just realised

And time travel isn't possible and never will be, otherwise we'd have people from the future here in the present day.
If I have to say this one more time I think I'm going to go mad ....

We haven't had anyone travel back yet because this guys machine hasn't been switched on yet this machine is supposed to open a worm hole not a black hole in the universe where people from the future who have better technology will be able to travel back to us as his machine won't be turned on until may 2008 no people would not have come back yet.. we'll have to wait until may to see if that happens May 2008 will be day 0 according to this guy they won't be able to travel back before day 0 urrg..

Edit: I'm not argueing this point as I think its going to work I just saying it'll be interesting to see what happens and I fully repsect those who have come in and debated there point of view with evidence but it just annoys me when people come in and say 'it won't work blerrg' and haven't even read the article....

I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

Well, you think that someone in the future would have done something similar to make them go into the past by themselves considering they'll have better technology.

But I won't start going on, I haven't a clue what I'm on about ^^ In my opinion it won't work as there isn't a physical future

Nice opinion . but the only way to get back would to be having a time machine in the present which means its impossible for them to come

I get what you're saying, it's just what that person is saying is pretty much a guess. Supposedly there have been lots of wormholes already, but none of them are large enough to travel through and don't last long becuase they need to be held open, also to create one big enough just to let a few atoms through requires an enormous amount of mass - that's where his guess falls through.

that is in fact a very good arguement =] But I think there'd have to be a machine on this end or something but like you I'm not much of a physics wizz so meh.

yes according to physics wormholes open and close all the time, i agree to create a wormhole you would need an enormous amount of energy and mas but that can be equalled to by speed (theoretically)

Well hopefully it will work, I don't think it will but that doesn't mean i don't want it to. It's just I feel sometimes these people take things to the point where it's just pseudo-science.
