That doesn't prove that a god exists.

"Oh look a church, that means god must exist"

Humans look for an answer to everything, before we had scientific knowledge the easiest explanation they could come up with was a supernatural power/god(s) which answered everything, we now have science knowledge and know other wise.

    Oh here we go..

For a start, GCSE relgious education is more of a history tool than it is to convert students to a certain religion, religion is very important historically and I personally think it is interesting seeing what people used to and still do believe, flawed they may be. Not sure if that was what you was precisely getting at but I thought I'd clarify anyhow.

Now we move onto myths; myths are in the realm of fantasy, such as Zeus and Hercules- these amongst a pantheon of other Gods are deemed mythological now, but once they were deemed a main-stream religion with various offshoot cults worship the various array of Gods.

    myth
    noun

    1. A traditional story or tale that has no proven factual basis: fable, legend. See belief/unbelief, real/imaginary, religion.

Now tell me what the difference is between Zeus, and any of the modern day "gods"? It just seems the same thing.. a fantasy used to explain things which people don't understand, yet we now have a vaster understanding of the universe than ever before.

So basically all God's now and the afterlife etc, are all myths thus inherantly in the realm of fantasy as there is no evidence supporting a christian/catholic/islamic/etc God. (lol vatican?)

Science proves the world wasn't created by a giant holy man floating in mid air, Science proves how a planet is created, Science shows us the chemical reaction between various elements, the bible is a book filled with stories, kinda like a portable library, a book can't prove anything, Science can prove things, obviously not everything but I think one of the million telescopes around the world would of seen a giant flying man at one point or another

i'd like to think you went to heaven when you're dead and you're there with all your dead family/friends, i don't believe that happens though. i reckon you just die and that's the end. and i have no religion.

shame scinece cant explain how people have been healed due to springs such as places in Lourdes but hey maybe there is something in the water that makes you regain your vision and movement of a paralysed arm. I wonder why scientists have not yet been able to find this?
