Just because he's black doesnt mean he's not been educated, poor or from a starving poor country (he actually brought up in Hawaii?).

So if a white man is not educated, poor and brought up in a **** place but hes a american he should be president above a black man?

like i said, only 1% of the population are the originals. None of them have ever been president i don't think. No, he shouldn't have, no-one should have. If Obama does a good job then kl but i think originals should be first choice so whatever, we'll just wait to see
yeah i didnt read ur post until i posted mine lol. but how is anyone gonna know if they're in that 1% unless they know their entire family history or take like tests or woteva to find out? a bit extreme rly. yeah time will tell rly whether he does a good job or not. but with such high expectations from society, it'll be really hard for him to prove that he'll be a good president.

and the fact that he wasn't brought up in wealth only makes him a better choice, he'll definitely be able to connect to average americans better than the spoiled previous president.

    it's called a mistype. *******.
and you can't give one statistic to represent someone as being intellectual as the true definition of the word varies.
but here.. since you're so desperate to prove me wrong:

    1.2 million
Among single-race blacks 25 and older, the number who had an advanced degree in 2007 (e.g., master’s, doctorate, medical or law). In 1997, 717,000 blacks had this level of education.
    2.3 million
Number of single-race black college students in fall 2006. This was an increase of roughly 1 million from 15 years earlier.

notice how it says "single-race" so these figures would be proportionally higher for mixed race groups which include the "black race" so to speak

aww boo-hoo so defensive you have to try insult me!! cute lol.
nah i'm not desperate to prove you wrong, just seems you shoved it in to try make a point. If you're gonna make a point you do it correctly
ah okay because black people go to college (which is seen as the 'taking the easy way out route' around here:rolleyes it makes them intelligent. K, i don't even give a crap who's black or who's not. I'm talking about real americans so give me some stastics on that :/
by the way it says single-race black college students so why would it be mixed race groups :S and of course it includes the black race, it says black students...

@jen i think colleges in the US tend to be universities. compared to in the UK we call colleges the less-academic method to a-levels.

having a masters degree is in no way an easy way out in any country, i don't think you realise how much work goes into such a thing, it's not just doing some salon course at your local city college.

if you're so interested in what it is to be a "true american" then whip a timeline out because you won't get anywhere. to be an american is to be classed as a declared american citizen, something of which obama is. you can try argue your way around that but it's permanent and unchanging.

yeah thats true. colleges and universities are basically interchangeable words. there's no difference.
