which is why government should have nothing to do with it.

the funny thing is that the answer to the problem of gay marriage is simple. "marriage" shouldnt be defined by the government. what the government should do is only recognize civil unions. then a man and a woman can still be a union legally and they can still call it "marriage" if they want, as defined by their church. there would be absolutely no difference other than what it's called by the government. they lose nothing. and it also allows gays to be in legal unions. they can call it "marriage" too but hey, whats it matter to you? no one loses in that situation.

well yeah but only 3 of the 50 states allow gay marriage. california recently banned it in a vote. and california is considered a pretty democratic state.

obviously its not everyone, but theres enough people to keep the law where it is now.
