I seriously hope Channel 4 see this. The way they victimised Habbo instead of focusing on an important issue is wrong, and they should be issuing an apology regarding how they have portrayed their report.

Bringing Hobbas back would be a fantastic idea.![]()
I don't think it would because of the mute
But I bet it will

That's quite unprofessional for a CEO to do. However, I don't like how Channel 4 made Rebecca out to be an expert with no links to Habbo. I also don't like how Rebecca made out she was shocked by what she saw, when it was only two years ago she was praising Habbo's moderation - when let's be honest, it wasn't that different in terms of how cyber sex was dealt with.
I personally think she was probably trying to save her reputation and any credibility she may have by talking to Channel 4, in the hope of what she said two years ago would be forgotten.

I think Rebecca was geniunely shocked. She's been doing community safety for decades now, and to look back at Habbo and see the moderation performing so poorly from when she left would be disturbing. Imagine you kept a beautiful mansion all nice and pretty, left it to someone else for the weekend, came back and it was trashed. That's probably how she felt lol.
Yeah I see your point. Although, I don't think she was genuinely that shocked at all tbh. There has been "brothels" on habbo since I can remember joining and she just acted like it was all new to her, which I found quite strange.https://twitter.com/RebeccaNewton/st...59416038191104

Channel 4 are making this out as if all of these rooms are full of paedophiles. I don't believe that for a second.
Am I honestly the only one who went around the hotel at a young age trying to see some boobs? When I was 14 I would only go on the hotel to gain furni or to chat up older girls in hope to see their boobs (As I didn't know how to clear my history!) it never worked. What I am trying to say is, I think that's just how most boys are at that age. With that said, the rooms themselves are totally unnecessary and shouldn't have been allowed on the hotel to begin with and I disagree with habbo using 'flirting' as a marketing scheme.
Even if it is kids doing stuff like this, it's wrong and always has been but telling thousands of parents that the game is full of paedophiles isn't true. I agree with @Red; they're making out that the only thing users do in game is talk about sex.

I interpreted it as that she was shocked it took so long for a moderator to do something, and nothing happened.
@Richie it's about more than just sex, but sex sells more than violence so that's what they're pushing I guess. idk, but hopefully a change comes from it and the problems are addressed and sorted properly and efficiently for once.
I totally agree that changes are needed and have been needed for a long time but I don't think a full on news report was necessary. Sulake should of been told they need to increase moderation before having their company name slandered. If these news reporters were really concerned they would of acted faster, they wouldn't have sat alongside 'paedophiles' for two months watching them chat up young girls / boys. Even after this dies down, habbo will still have the arrow in the knee. If my child asked me could they go on an online game, the first thing I would do would be google the company, if i did that now it'd be just news article after news article about paedophiles. I don't see how the company could recover, hopefully they do though.I interpreted it as that she was shocked it took so long for a moderator to do something, and nothing happened.

Being a Habbo player since I was 7. I did not take that into consideration. Hit it on the nail.I think it's fair to say that the media aren't over reacting, I do believe what they are reporting is fact.
Now, I'm sure that everyone on here that still plays the game is thinking that the media are over reacting, and that you never see such behaviour in-game - and you probably don't. But you guys are what, 14-18? You're all smart enough to avoid these sorts of people and enjoy Habbo for what it's meant to be used for.
The fact is, none of you guys, including myself, are 10 or 11 years old. I know when I first joined Habbo, I was 11, and I was epically clueless and didn't comprehend the fact that *anyone* could talk to me. The fact is, these people do exist online and the fact is they can easily talk to young children online via Habbo instantly.
