Nope I don't agree with normal users being able to fully moderate but I do think it'd be a great idea to have local mods.

The blind loyalty surrounding Habbo is pathetic (although not surprising on a Habbo fansite I suppose...). Many people on here can't seem to see Sulake doing anything wrong, they don't realise how Sulake in the past few years has changed to poorer moderations, dropping the filter and encouraging "dating". The fact people are now blaming the victims is sickening and whilst ideally parents should watch over their children, this cannot and does not happen in reality, but could they trust their children on Habbo unsupervised at all? I think we can say now, no they cannot. I remember in 2006 I was permanently banned for giving out my Skype to a few friends, would this ever happen today? I think not, and annoying as I found it back then, it was the right measure.

Investigative journalism is biased why does no one understand that? Channel 4 also has no reason to remain unbiased, news outlets (excluding the BBC) can take whatever viewpoint they wish and there is nothing wrong with that. Why on earth Channel 4 would make a report carrying on about all the positives of Habbo I don't know, no one would care, investigative journalism has brought this very real issue to light and has been incredibly successful at doing so, that is a good thing. Never once have they explicitly said that everyone on Habbo is a paedofile or that there is no positives about the site.
Took the words right out of my mouth!

More English-speaking moderators, more emphasis on the report tool and how/when to use it and removal of some of the more sexual furniture to steer it away from the smutty label it has been branded with by the media would be a far better permanent solution. Good that they've finally sorted out this mute malarky though, perhaps some of the morons trolling channel 4 reporters/producers/editors will come off twitter.
You do know how many moderators they would need to monitor every single bit of chat? It would bankrupt the company in a second, there's a reason they don't have it now.

That's a horrible idea on their part. Habbo Helpers are for guiding new Habbos and that's where it should stay.
Also, they need a plan overnight.

worked for me scamanfa! probably due to wired limitations, someone must have entered/watched the room at the same time as you.

@Jordy completely agree with everything you said! This all stems from the fact they don't want to eat into their profit and have consistently cut back on moderation. Using the same old tools with a much smaller team was never going to work, they either need to invest in better technology or invest in more man power. They need to readdress the relaxed approach they've taken, it's always had issues but nothing compared to what you see today with regards to the amount of inappropriate rooms, content and chat.

RE: Hobbas, I don't think this will work. This system was very flawed even when I was part of it and I don't see that now is the time for them to reintroduce an unstable element to an already rocky moderation model. They need to get the basics right first, the core paid staff and technology needs to be in place before they open themselves up to further issues.
I agree that Hobbas gave something for people to strive towards, the high presence of players with some sort of authority would give more of a secure feel to the site but what they are suggesting sounds unsuitable, I trained pretty much every team of Hobbas on the UK site from 2004 until they stopped, on .CA since it opened until 2008, and there were a lot of documents and procedures in place to keep people in line - I don't see this happening these days, the paid staff aren't even well trained enough. On top of this they would just become a point for abuse for the 100's of kids who are used to being able to do pretty much whatever they want inside the hotel, lumbering volunteering teens with this task to me seems like a cop-out on Habbos part.
Some sort of official guide would be fine but as we saw with Habbo X's I don't think it really worked.

Oh got it now in the room, silly glitches I suppose.

Fast Food time though as I thought I was unmuted.
