Lol. Yeh, Kurt and REM were good friends actually. My dad was/is a very big REM fan. I went to see them in concert a few monthes ago, and my dad was playing their CD on the car on the way over. It came on and he told me that. When we got there, they played that song, and before it, he said he wrote it for "A good friend". If you look at the music video, you could sort of tell. Mike knew that Kurt was going to try to kill himself. That song, as well as "Let me in"

Yeh, there was an interview with him, where he talked about it: Here

Another fact: "Losing my religion" by REM was written in responce to "Every breathe you take" by sting. They thought it represented a stalker song.

I must say I definately didn't know about Kurt & Michael being close friends, I never really considered it, but that makes so much more sense now.. Haven't heard "Let me in" though, or I have and can't remember the title. Will try to listen to it if it's on Launch. Ah I just read the interview, that's so interesting. That's cool that you're dad is a huge fan of REM, my parent's haven't got a clue when it comes to music. Also, haha about the stalker song

    Ugly- Awesome song

My dad saw REM before they were popular. Like in a bar in new york. Oh, and when we bought Dookie, my mom loved basket case :p Yeh, my dad loves music. He has thousands (litterally) records. In fact a lot of them are right next to my computer in this shelf. Lets see... fleetwood mac, queen, led zepellin, 3 doors albums, peter gabrial, bob marely. There are like 50 more there alone. He converts all of his albums to CD's. Its crazy, he has a record player that can hook up to the computer, and he transfers it to MP3's on. CD's.

*Isn't jealous*.. I see where you get your good music taste from then! Hah, I'd be ashamed to look through mum's cd's.. Let's just say, it isn't the best of music. :p Arr, seeing REM in a bar before they were popular - how good would that be.. My mom is a lot like my dad with that taste, but my dad is more into it. He told me about when he was in the bar, there was a drunk guy disrupting everyone, and 4 bouncers, broke 3 chairs, and his ribcage, then threw him out, and it was the most bruetal thing he ever saw. :p

Blue orchid- White Stripes (Lol. My dad bought that CD yesterday :p )

Ahh, that's a shame about the drunk guy Broken ribcage, owch. I always manage to get a group of drunks behind me at gigs, shouting and distrupting. Once, at this sitting down concert, these couple of guys were completely out of it and they kept asking me to sit on all of their things so they wouldn't get stolen whilst they got more drinks. I was like "Um, sit on it.. I'll watch it? Sure" Then they jokily punched my arm when I came back like an hour later "euhh fanks mayyttee"

Yey, the new white stripes album is it any good lol I was thinking of buying it but I'm slightly poor at the momento'.
