I don't think they said to avoid maintenance, I think it was to avoid lag.. but all the maintenances are getting quite annoying, and the BP Oil Spill homepage competition is being postponed - you can't put an entry in now, but the winners are being held in suspense.. There wasn't THAT many homepage's to actually judge.
