You can really tell the difference between X1's and X4's, I reccomend getting them if you wanna save cash from the astros.

I've used X4's before. There was a difference but I dont intend on buying another Turtle Beach product again. They break so easily. I'd rather get Astro's as they give you a 1 year guarantee if it breaks

Well surely you could just buy a nice surround sound system for your room for that price? Than just use a stock xbox mic or a wireless one or the tb you already have. Than you can use it for movies too.

Either way if he's going to watch a movie on his Xbox the headset will be hooked up, and the fact the sound is going straight in your ears is better.

Eh theres more pros to surround sound.
Such as:
-not looking dumb (huge thing on your head)
-being able to watch movies when/if you have friends over
-being able to hear other people/talk to other people
