I know people that have made so much more than £340 on one banner, and I know people that have made more than £1000 in less than one week on a web design and coding - the same age as you. I am impressed, but don't think I am blown away.

Im not talking about people you "know" though. Im on about you. They arnt the ones telling me. You are, and I dont appreciate it.

If anyone could, why didnt they. Thanks Adam. Atleast some people know what they are talking about here.

That would also mean, it would have been approx. £60 per hour . . . If they wre offering that as a prize, it would have taken all night

I'm not staying it's bad - but it's not like WOW either.

To be honest it is the concept of the idea and the final product that is the make or brake moment of the design process.

Designs don't have to be complex to act effective. Using the design to it's fullest potential is the complex part of the design process.

Also in most cases it is the idea which proves difficult, designing the product so that it is unique and at the same time effective, relies of the idea process. Simply placing shapes and text on a document is nothing. But producing your idea onto the canvas and producing it to the idea specifications is the vital part of the design process.

But how are we supposed to do that if he hasnt stated any specs
just the text, Most people chose the blue sceme as its on his website?
And alot of long words, usualy the more complex design makes a proffessional look so people buy or want it?

Then when they pay a proffessional skinner and he chooses a red skin we all look silly rofl?

It depends on the situation, if no information was provided then look for other sources that inspire you, and produce your unique design. Use your idea and the inspiration from other sources to produce a design that you feel necessary.
