Almost to 60. Beat the game as soon as you get 60 stars. That way, you can start doing the purple coin challenges and don't have to do them all back to back at the end.

i just got 48 stars, i hated versing bowser in the bedroom. Damn that was hard ;[ took me a few tries then finally owned his ***! Lovin this game
