he has taken legal action , hes spoke to the police about it and there in the process of contacting Suake to try and get Ip's and other details about who access his account from there they will then get in contact with ISP's to locate the addresses of the offenderes and even if they have Proxyed to change there Ip's you cant change you MAC address so they will proberly be caught someway. In the mean time when i spoke to him last night he said he was hoping to get about 8,000 Pounds from the people who hacked him,

Urm, its easy to change your MAC address..

And anyway if I was in the situation of the 'hackers', I would use someone elses wireless connection on my laptop, clear my cookies and everything, make new accounts to xfer to etc, use a VPN and socks5 proxies and maybe TOR or something.

Then swap it between lots of different accounts in no way associated with each other, sell them, bet some etc.. sulake couldn't trace unless they wanted to ban lots of innocent people inbetween, and it could never come back to me.

Hacking is illegal and as people have found out they can be arrested/Sued for it. so he techincally does have some sort of case.

Even if hes hacked most of his furni there isnt a case against him for that so techincally it still stands that he obtained his furni "legally"

Its still coving's case as he was Telnet'd which involves scanning his ip for open ports and attacking that way, that without the persons permission is illegal, as for his furni he hasnt got a case unless sulake allow police to investigate however if they fail to then i guess he could just sue Sulake.

As for MAC addresses yes its possible to change your MAC address by MAC spoofing however i really doubt they went through all the trouble of Spoofing there MAC address to do that it takes most skilled people to do it correctly.

He can hope as much as he wants, it'll never goto court and he'd never get 8k for it, if they ever had enough evidence to pin point who done it then the guy would either be cleaning public toilets for a few months or a slap on the wrist and their contract terminated by their ISP.

Only stupid and careless people get caught, it's very easy not to get traced and no.. mac spoofing does not take any skill at all. Everyday tons of people get away with phishing paypal accounts, exploiting hundreds of accounts for payed services (like porn sites) and hacking the account of Sarah Palin, lol. All of which are alot bigger deals than a kid losing out on Habbo.

How does the guy know he was hacked that way? Sounds like he's covering up the butt hurt of other more likely ways his account got stolen and the hurt that he probably did pay for the majority of that furni and didn't steal most of it like he is claiming.

As far as Sulake's Contribution goes; Since the guy gave the pass out publicly over forums then Sulake are going to have a hard time giving any real evidence to who it was, i'm guessing over 100 people logged in the account and there is no real proof the guy who hacked him ever even logged on the account or that it's the same people who stole the furni. Though it is illegal to go on any account without permission that also would have no actions taken since they could have logged in being lead to believe that the OP on the forums was just giving his account out for free.

As far as your ISP Getting involved: xMr.DDoSx0rz2009x advises that if you get a call/e-mail from your ISP then just use the classic: "Someone must have stolen my interwebs and used my proxy to do it!" 99% Proof win.
