Because it's historical, thats why, the fact that he is the first black president, thats the difference, if someone had the same policies as him, which mccain didn't! it wouldn't have been him at all, you have to remember it's a very large and some what racist country!

first, i havent seen it nearly as much and im in america. most legitimate newspapers didnt discuss it much. secondly, because its true? idk. its interesting? it doesnt matter, but for a people that just 50 years ago were still discriminated against by law, it's a pretty remarkable and dramatic feat/change/whatever you wanna call it. its all a "right now" thing, in a month people wont be talking about it anymore.

because years ago, black people never though this day would happen. they were being killed, tortured and treated as second-class civilians. they didn't have the same rights as white people. black people are very emotional about this. the white house was built by African slaves.
