Dad at 13

If you watch the video I think it clearly shows they have no clue what they need and must do as a parent. The boy has absolutely no clue - which ok, he's young, but that means he isn't ready - and the girl was almost strangling the baby patting it on the back far too hard.

Yeah they are young, but it doesnt mean they wont learn? Like all new parents they will learn how to look after their baby.

Which is true, they can learn, but I personally think they are too young to just throw their lives away to looking after the newborn. The boy is adamant to continue going to school, but when will the pressure finally get to him whilst at school? He has his whole life ahead of him, I mean for gods sake, he hasn't even started his GCSEs - how on earth is he going to provide his family with financial security? As the tory leader quite clearly stated - "its a child having a child."

As I've already said in this thread, it'll just be the typical boyfriend leaves the scene. He wants to be a good dad to the newborn, but I can almost guarantee come 6 months time this will no longer be the case, and both of them will probably get so frustrated with the constant attention it needs.

Sure, many families live off benefits in the UK (too many if I must say so myself), and this needs to be cut down significantly. Having a child at the age of 13/15 is way too young, and I think we all know they'll be yet another benefits supporter. It's not on - and the baby deserves parents that at least have some clue as to what to do.

I agree having children at the ages of 13/15 is a stupid idea, but its still done way to much - the highest is europe isnt it? A lot of teenagers are throwing their lives away, look at Kizzie that 13 year old girl who got pregnant, she's managed to do her GCSE's though and go to college in the meanwhile - and I hope both the boy and the girl in this relationship can do that too. Even if one of them fails, at least let the other one be able to get qualifications.

I agree that he will probably will not be with her forever, like the "happily ever after" there pretending to have. Even if he doesnt stick around he can still be a good father, and I think she will be a good mother.

Yet I'm still convinced that even if he fails at his role of being the father, the girl will still be a good mother, and if he doesnt fail he will be a good father aswell.

I know living off benefits is bad, but if it feeds that baby that they both brought into the world I think they should be given them. Its not the babys fault after all.

Slow down soldier, he hasn't even started his SATs, nevermind his GCSEs. Nobody can really claim a correct age for having a baby but I think we can all agree that thirteen is an insanely young age to be popping them out. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's his baby but for some reason she's set on him being the father, maybe due to him having a much more supportive family than the biological father would.

I just can't bring myself to believe that he was able to ejaculate at the time the girl was apparently first pregnant - maybe not even now to be honest. :eusa_whis

This is actually quite horrific.

The fact he said something along the lines of "I though it would be nice to have a baby" just shows how little he understands about it.

Frankly, its either for the money or they're completely stupid. And however young that boy looks, he's still 13, how stupid can you be at that age?
