That's a good amount Seems like a good system to do it too, or that's what the impression is with all the emails I received, so it doesn't seem to take too long

It's not a hard thing to do for the Forum Related awards at all, if you have two ACP windows open, one with the User Manager and one with the Awards Request as it takes two seconds to search someone on User Manager to see if their request is valid, so overall it doesn't take too long as long as we keep on top of them.

Last night when we introduced them it felt like it was never going to end!

If we were to give you the badge, we'd have to give every other member of the month ever the badge, and then it'd be the same for events, competitions and everything else - pretty soon the badges would be all over the place and be meaningless, this would be happening too soon since the system has only just been introduced.

For instance for the rest of this year there will only be 6 MOTM badges given out, this makes it rare and more desirable.
I don't quite understand the first bit lol. I don't see the difference between now and back then, other than a badge?

And does that mean you're not doing it for each section now? And as I said before, you'd only give it
out to the people who requested it. You could just open it up for one day and say that is the only day previous winners can claim and then at least you can refer back to that. I'm never going to win it again because to be quite honest, I can be bothered to put in the effort again. I don't see why people having the badges (in this case 'all over the place') is a bad thing, the system is there to be used, and to use it you give out badges. And it's not like if you did use my above idea, everyone would claim it. Not every membeb visits daily, or weekly, whichever you choose, and not everyone will bother claiming, and i bet half of them don't even visit the forum anymore.

It's a new initiative so it should start from scratch, the point is what's the attractiveness in a badge as a prize if the 30 users who have been previous winners already have it.

The member of the month badge looks pretty good in my opinion and it could make some of our newer members push harder, wanting to be the first person to achieve the badge. I'm not going to compensate you just because you "can't be bothered to put the effort in again" - that's your problem really and we shouldn't compensate you based upon those grounds.

New initiative huh. Well, why not start the posts from scratch again? That'd make the forum more active. Or start counting the join date from today? Although you mentioned it in the above post about it being more of a competition, it actually has no real difference..

Funny that. Making the newer members push harder. Kinda makes me think that people really don't care about current members. And not only that, it's the current members who have already won it, not the new ones. I'm not asking you to compensate just me. Tbqh, I'm not all too fussed about the badge system, it's the fact that you haven't given us the chance to even request it. It's quite clear that past winner want it, at least 4 have said it in this thread. And no, I can't be bothered, why should I put in effort now? If you don't care about the members who've been here a ling time and hve made the forum active, what's the point?

    And just so

I'm guessing the people who run this place are human so they probably drew a line to make the whole thing actually manageable
