Yesterday at 22:38:35 TheGarner logged into the server and started to run various commands to try and destroy as much of the Minecraft server that he/she can possibly do in-client. Now you're thinking: So you destroyed your own server? Technically no it wasn't me personally. It was a user using an exploit to damage CreeperIsland.

There is an exploit out there for minecraft servers that lets you log in as other users and once you have logged into users who have OP or Admin permissions then you can do quite a lot of damage. They also logged into Toms (Skynus) account as well. This exploit was posted 10 days or so go on PlanetMinecraft but due to the fact of me being away due to a family death, busy and other stuff no one actually realised until today when the server crashed. Thankfully the exploit was only used yesterday and it was noticed today when the server crashed. We do have some good news though, read below for the rest of the information.


What's been damaged?

Worlds

Console : 2013-09-14 22:50:11 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'spawn' was unloaded from memory.
Console : 2013-09-14 22:50:11 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'spawn' was removed from config.yml
Console : 2013-09-14 22:50:11 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'spawn' was DELETED.

Console : 2013-09-14 22:48:53 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'games' was unloaded from memory.
Console : 2013-09-14 22:48:53 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'games' was removed from config.yml
Console : 2013-09-14 22:48:53 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'games' was DELETED.

Console : 2013-09-14 22:49:21 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'creative' was unloaded from memory.
Console : 2013-09-14 22:49:21 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'creative' was removed from config.yml
Console : 2013-09-14 22:49:22 [INFO] [Multiverse-Core] World 'creative' was DELETED.


LWC

Console : 2013-09-14 22:45:32 [INFO] TheGarner issued server command: /lwc admin clear protections

By the looks of the logs I have been reading any protections to chests/doors and so on made by LWC have been cleared.

Note: We have only noticed the above taking place. Other parts of the server could be damaged as well.

Can it be fixed?

We can fix the worlds and bring the 'deleted' worlds back. We can bring back all the worlds by using a bacup that took place at 22:16 14/09/2013. At this moment in time we cannot bring back the protected chests/doors with LWC. If you notice any other problems that might have been caused by this please do let us know when it is back up and running.

What's happening now?

Restoring and updating the core server and plugins.

Im not good with computers and minecraft lingo, but is this just for like admin protections or is this all chests and that? As Ive stored a cache of lots of diamonds, emeralds and such.

All chests that were protected with LWC by any user. I suggest you come online now and protect them again to be on the safe side if possible.

Just to let everyone know that the server is back up and running.

Hello Everyone, as of like just now Minecraft has auto updated to 1.6.4. Unforunatly most servers are 1.6.2, so until they change over to 1.6.4 the only was to access them is by doing the following

In the Minecraft launcher, before you go in to Minecraft, click "Edit Profile" on the bottom left. Then, about halfway down, select "1.6.2" in the dropdown menu and save profile and continue like normal.

Minecraft is doing a weird thing. 1.6.3 is the officially released version and is not downloadable. Any server updated to 1.6.3 cannot be accessed.

The beauty of the new minecraft launcher is that you can run a previous version with ease. We'll update the server once Bukkit have released a few more versions of their developemnt release.
