You will never NEED to buy anything but the above 3 really, even better if you get wired controller which is only £25 ($36)

The problem with arguements like these is PS3 comes with most of this built in so PS3 owners will go with "you have to buy this, this and this" even though you don't have to buy anything more than you buying with the PS3.

The PS3 is cheap for what you get but the real fact is you don't nessercarily want what the PS3 offers, the 360 at least gives you choices, you don't have to buy a HD-DVD drive or something, personally I don't see why you would want too.

No plus thats american figures heres what i have and i find it better than a ps3:

Xbox 360 arcade - £160
20GB hard drive - £70
Xbox live - £40
Wireless Headset - £25
all of that - £295
Which in turn equals cheaper than a Ps3, i couldnt care about online costing its only £3 a month for many services ps3 online doesn't offer, people say free online is better but with a ps3 you dont get a headset so many people dont go out and buy one, i borrowed cod4 off my mate for a day on ps3 and i encountered 3 out of 40 people had headsets and they didnt speak. you can go on about how your precious console has blu-ray, but what does that do? gives you a bigger disc for a bigger game, the xbox doesnt have that but doesnt need it games like metal gear solid and killzone dont suit an xbox that much with there fancy cutscenes and super realistic visuals (all you kids who think they matter make me laugh) , xbox sells more for the fact its better and far cheaper. you can argue all you want and call me a fanboy but owning most of the consoles since 4th generation doesn't really suggest im a fanboy.

lol £5 if u go by £300 which i have seen ps3's come with 2 games. they were selling at about £270 + a game a few weeks back. Plus, you have to pay live every year. I was just pointing to it, so dont start raving at me lol

Again, live is optional, you don't HAVE to get it, you can argue all you want but at then end of the day you can't win because it's a stupid thing you're arguing for, you can get xbox arcade with like 4 games anyway.
