Thanks Oli!
And yeah, I see what you mean about the MOTM award. Although it's quite annoying that i've won twice, and I don't get it, I see where you're coming from! Looks like i'll just have to try my hardest to get it again. (h)

i'm out of touch, i'm out of love
i'll pick you up when you're getting down
and out of all these things i've done
i think i love you better now
Yeh but it's like they're not even listening. There is no difference between proving you won something, or them searching your name on the modcp. In fact, it's proably quicker.
In fairness I personally agree that we should be able to apply awards retrospectively if members are willing to supply evidence in their request that proves they are eligible for the award in question. I don't think giving them out in such a way is going to particularly put newer members off "trying harder" because they either want the badge or they do not. When I posted about this system before it was publicly announced, I said it was also a way of rewarding our older members as well as the new members we are getting. It doesn't create a massive amount of work and I personally feel we should be recognising our long term, dedicated members who have contributed something to Habbox (by becoming MOTM or having an idea implemented) just as much as we should be extending an inviting arm to new members who have recently signed up.
Of course if my opinion does not reflect that of overall management then it probably will not happen. But from my personal point of view I do not see why it should not, given that it won't require any effort at all (apart from a click of the mouse) to verify it if the member includes the thread in their awards request.

OK then, let's say they allow us to backtrack MOTM and Sunday Updates - then when they introduce other awards in the future people will again ask if they can be backtracked too. It will never end and it will be stupid, more importantly it will be pretty much impossible for two or three people (Matt, Oli and Garion?) to handle.
I can see the point of stopping things like events, that would be massively difficult to manage, but MoTM and Sunday Updates are relatively easy to deal with I would say. When we discussed the Awards system being implemented part of my reasoning for wanting it was not only the appeal it has for new users, but the fact we could use it to reward older members who have dedicated time to the forum in terms of winning things like member of the month and having their ideas used. It really wouldn't be difficult to apply these two awards retrospectively.OK then, let's say they allow us to backtrack MOTM and Sunday Updates - then when they introduce other awards in the future people will again ask if they can be backtracked too. Completely agree with this. I could see where Oli was coming from, but there's no reason to why this can't be separate from the events etc., especially as MOTM & Sunday Updates are directly forum-related. So yeah, it would be nice to get these awards from previous 'winnings'.I can see the point of stopping things like events, that would be massively difficult to manage, but MoTM and Sunday Updates are relatively easy to deal with I would say. Sunday Updates and MoTM are different to winning competitions and/or events too, seeing as they prove you're a contributor, while an event or competition doesn't necessarily shape the way Habbox works or show that you have Habbox's best interests at mind.

Precisely. They show a dedication to Habbox that I think deserves to be recognised. This system should not be biased towards newer members and we should be appropriately utilising it to benefit all. Our more established members are equally important and as I repeatedly stress, they should not be forgotten or ignored.

put it to a vote
and whats the problem with that? You do realise that there will be an overwhelming amount of awards to give out in the first days/weeks. Then there will be like, 5 a day or something. probably not even that. i fail to see why its a problem lolOK then, let's say they allow us to backtrack MOTM and Sunday Updates - then when they introduce other awards in the future people will again ask if they can be backtracked too. and as garion said, which i hadnt even thought about, some awards like events come a lot more often, and they dont actually mean youve contributed to the forum
