It's cool. I'm on an F1 forum anyway so discussion is rife there but it's always nice to talk with people you're familiar with haha.

Nice to see Lewis take the win today but I think everyone's thoughts are now with Bianchi

Jules Bianchi has suffered a severe head injury and is undergoing surgery following his crash in the Japanese Grand Prix, the FIA has confirmed.

Marussia Formula 1 driver Bianchi crashed on lap 43 of the Suzuka F1 race, going off the track at Turn 7 shortly after Adrian Sutil had spun into the barriers at the same place.

Bianachi's Marussia hit the rear of a recovery vehicle that was being used to recover the stranded Sauber.

After being removed from the car, he was taken to the Suzuka circuit's medical centre before being transported to the Mie General hospital in an ambulance. He was unconscious throughout.

A statement issued by motor racing's governing body on Sunday night said: "The CT scan shows that he has suffered a severe head injury and is currently undergoing surgery.

"Following this, he will be moved to intensive care where he will be monitored.

"Mie General Hospital will issued an update as soon as further information becomes available."

What a race. I hope everything turns out ok for Bianchi.

We recorded the it as we were out and we didn't put on enough lag time to see the very end.

L'equipe saying surgery is over and he is breathing without assistance although I cannot vouch for their reliability.

Here is a picture of Jules in the car... disturbing stuff. Looks like his head was the first point of contact.

The BBC are now reporting the following:

Jules Bianchi out of surgery after Japanese Grand Prix crash

Marussia driver Jules Bianchi is out of surgery and breathing on his own after suffering a severe head injury in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Bianchi, 25, crashed into a recovery vehicle and the rain-affected race in Suzuka was stopped early after 44 laps.

He was unconscious as he was taken to hospital following the crash and was operated on before being moved to intensive care, the FIA said.

Bianchi lost control at Suzuka where an earlier crash had occurred.

    More follows.

So looks like the article you posted was somewhat right.
