Why don't you just replace the ad's for these users with privately paid for ad's?

Then users cannot remove them through adblocks?

technically we can just means we have to manually do it through filter or right clicking the frame and blocking the frame.

I actually made an effort to remove adblock on hxf a few months back, but the adverts were so ridiculous - mostly for social networks based on middle aged men ******* to half naked, hyper sexualised, avatars - that I turned adblock back on.

Essentially I agree that people should be encouraged to pay for habbox, but I really REALLY don't think this is the way to do it.

Pretty much every regular user buys, or has bought frequently in the past, donator or VIP. Instead of discouraging new users by using this block, encourage new users to buy donator, either through more publicity or added BENEFITS.

As far as I understand it, habbo is making far more effort at the moment at building relationships with fansites than they have for the past few years. Make an effort to re-open talks r.e. VIP - and this is something that Jin has to actively take part in.

I think one of the main issues with Habbox recently (i.e over the past few years) has probably been a decline in activity. Being a mod throughout a lot of this period makes it so obvious (i.e the amount of stuff we have to deal with has changed dramatically etc).

What I can't understand therefore is why Jin would want something which will effectively just make the decline in activity worse? What good will the extra small amount of money from these ads make when, in the long run, we're losing potential members who could/would at some point/consistently buy donator or VIP which would contribute a lot more money than the ads anyway? It baffles me

As I said before, if I was a hx noob and had never visited the site before and was presented with 2 options; either disable my adblock to view the site or don't view the site at all- I would just go with not view the site. Why would I bother? As a guy who has perhaps never visited the site before, why would I know if it was worth disabling the adblock? I'd probably think it would be more trouble than it is worth.

We have to try to gain new members and promote the buying of donator, not try to scare new members away!
used to fix usertitles n stuff

Ah yeah - would the average user know to do that? (Knew about the method myself, albeit through random testing earlier).

Just wondering, as I doubt many users of Adblock Plus really use it "to its maximum potential"
