yea but even in america they don't get it, i know OP movie 8 was shown in a few selected cinemas but that was it.

Would be good if something like 2 hr anime block was on a channel. proper anime channel would be good aswell but if they actually got ahold of some decent shows. and have the dubbed and subbed channel. then you just have the dvd advertise after each episode. and you make a deal with book publishers like viz and do the "check out the manga" aswell. advertisement pays.

Ima go on Dragons Den rofl.

If you actually look you'd find they do. Ponyo was in cinemas worldwide for at least two weeks straight with multiple showings each day a couple of months back, and in May Piccadilly's Apollo Cinema is having an Anime All-Nighter and in the same month London's BFI Southbank Cinema is holding an anime weekend where they are showing many anime films that have yet to be seen by most countries. Hell, England was the second place in the world (after Spain) to show King of Thorn last year. We got it months before even the Japanese did. Glasgow and Dublin have also had Anime Film Festival recently. The Glasgow Film Festival saw the British premiere of Evangelion 2.0, which aparrently had the audience cheering and applauding in praise. Anime isn't as hidden in this country as you may think - if you look it is there. Granted it isn't shown in mainstream cinemas (besides Miyazaki films) because there obviously isn't enough demand, but what do you expect? Especially with all the licensing and distribution issues that companies have to go through to get a hold of anime.

think he was meaning like proper releases for some movies. not just at anime specific events. like proper cinematic releases. What was the last movie to be shown in theatres before Ponyo?

And even in japan they dont do as well as youd expect them to do. Naruto,Bleach,OP films normaly make 6-10 Million yen.. or is it billion yen.. SW made 4,700,000,000/$53,000,000 so must be billion. but that still isnt much compared to films that get shown over here

    ~~

Just scimmed through my crappy SW cam rip. can;t wait for this in HD looks superb. Best animation for anything ive seen. my Gif probably dosen't give it justice. Also movie suffers from NBB (Nami's Big Boobs) which isnt a bad thing but still not as bad as movie 7 where slightest movement would make them bounce here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QodpMgXGqAo it was pretty bad

Before Ponyo? Probably another Ghibli film. The Cat Returns or Howl's Moving Castle or something. I'm not entirely sure. The only other anime film I have seen in a normal cinema is Pokemon: The First Movie.

Also - Nail (if you're around) have you seen The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya yet? I just finished watching it about ten minutes ago. It's amazing.

Dont want to watch until I catch up with OP. I'm on Episode 120
    Whats your favourite OP Ryu?
To be honest, I've watched all them and after 3 they start to go downhill imo, the only good one after 3 is 10 and 6.
