    fail. it is a form of entertainment. 60,000 people will pay £40 every other week to go see manchester united. that is £4.8million in manchester uniteds pockets every month. aside from that they get millions of pounds in sponsorship, tv deals, stadium hoardings, merchandise, and therefore can afford to pay a player £80,000 per week. try getting 60,000 people to pay £40 to watch a nurse at work. "are you going to the operation on saturday dave?!". you dont hear that, it doesnt happen, and it's unfortunate but true.
