+ damn this thread is full of glory hunters. man united fans from the midlands, liverpool fans from kent. geez..
fail. it is a form of entertainment. 60,000 people will pay £40 every other week to go see manchester united. that is £4.8million in manchester uniteds pockets every month. aside from that they get millions of pounds in sponsorship, tv deals, stadium hoardings, merchandise, and therefore can afford to pay a player £80,000 per week. try getting 60,000 people to pay £40 to watch a nurse at work. "are you going to the operation on saturday dave?!". you dont hear that, it doesnt happen, and it's unfortunate but true.I agree, even though I do support Manchester united and i like watching football occasionally, but i don't accept the fact that Footballers get paid thousands more money than Doctors, nurses etc... All medical helpers are paid very little even though they SAVE peoples lives but all footballers do is kick a ball around on Grass.
