A bit of Death Note or Afro Samurai?
I've seen a few episodes of Love Hina, but never bothered watching the whole series.Theres like 2 movies and an OVA series aswell isnt there?
I don't think you'll find many people watching yaoi here.![]()
First posttt.
Anyway yeah I watch anime n i got my lil sister into it too ..she's nine o_o I started off watching naruto but then all the filler eps got boring so I switched to stuff like fruits basket, chobits... short ones, my two faves being death note n elfen lied << understated anime, its fab.
Oh and on that topic is anyone going to MCM expo in London? (anime, manga, cosplay kinda thing)?
I'm going with two of my friends.Never been before, but from what I heard it's gonna be great.
I started watching DBZ again, got up to episode 89, but stopped. I find longer series to be very slow and not as entertaining as shorter series such as Death Note, Afro Samurai, Ergo Proxy and Utawarerumono. Thats what put me off Bleach and Naruto. They have a handfull of brilliant episodes, but also many ****** fillers.

Agree'd, like with Naruto, the fights just drag on and on.I'm going with two of my friends.Never been before, but from what I heard it's gonna be great.

Awesome.. I'm going too with my sis... but I'm sad so I'm cosplaying...
I think I got to about ... mid 60's ep of naruto, partly because I was a new anime fan and I actually liked the dubbed version better (no idea why) and they hadn't got that far so I just lost interest..
It's just a little frustrating at times.. I love anime but it's hard to find one serious enough for my tastes.. and have you ever tried starting a conversation with someone and they're like "uhhh... you like..childrens cartoons?" ARGHHH!!! I don't have one friend who likes it. So I rely on my sis with a 10 year age gap :S.. but she has sort of taught me to at least look into the old classics like sailor moon, pokemon, and .. tokyo mew mew etc.
Yeah, they spend like 10 episodes talking to their enemy before anything happens aswell. Although when something does happen it's pretty cool.
Cool. Who you cosplaying as?
I was gonna cosplay as L from Death Note, my friend was going to do Ninja Ninja from Afro Samurai and my other friend was going to go as someone from Bleach. But we decided to save our money to spend on stuff there, plus food and other supplys. Also we have to buy tickets, a hotel room and get the train there and back which will cost about £70.
I better buy the tickets now actually.
At the expo you're weird if you don't cosplay though, so you'll be fine.
I've never seen the dubbed version of Naruto but I got up to episode 40 something on the subbed ones, but I also lost interest.
A few of my friends are like that, but most of my friends also like anime, or have atleast watched Dragonball Z or Pokemon and liked them. So they don't give me grief or say it's for kids. It's just a little frustrating at times.. When I bought Ghost in the Shell on DVD my step dad was like 'It cost £10!?' I explained that it was a great price for 2 anime films but then he was like 'but it's cartoons'. All I had to say was 'if you saw it you'd see it's nothing like a cartoon'. People need to stop judging anime before they've seen it! Although I don't know any adults who understand anime. My dad's like 'whats that chinese stuff?' -_- My mum's safe though. She never questions my anime. :8 I assume you're sisters 10 years older than you then? Must be cool to have an older sister who likes anime.
Don't worry, you'll find someone else who likes anime eventually. It's still growing here in the UK. It was the same for me. When I was in school I didn't know anyone who liked anime, but when I left and went to college half of the class liked it. I was quite supprised.Plus 75% of the people at the MCM expo are going to like anime, you'll meet a lot there.
