No aircraft would have a fixed RAT, not in this day in age anyway, it would simply cause more drag and be an annoyance to flight crew more than anything.Ah, good eye sight there.
Maybe the RAT is always down for that model, otherwise it should be adjustable by the flick of a switch on the overhead panel like Adam said.
The spoilers should be armed, but not down during approach. Air Canada Flight 621 lost speed and lift and eventually crashed due to having spoilers down during a low approach.
They can be up during final approach, but only in exceptional circumstances and only about 1/4 extended.
And RAT stands for Rat Air Turbine which creates minimal power should the aircraft loose all power.
Yep, but in Flight Simulator, the aircraft model may have a fixed RAT as some developers offer freeware models featuring non-retractable RATs. When it comes to FS, simulating forces like drag, weight, lift and thrust are not very realistic.![]()
