Because they over charge people for credits. And bring out bright furniture to lure kiddies in to buying them.Jesus....How they can afford to prolong this when two major investors have dropped I don't know, even with this spin they're now piling on.
I also like the subtle reinforcement throughout that statement to the users that the site will be under scrutiny for a few weeks after the unmute, like a plea. Almost as if he's asking the kids to behave while Ofsted are visiting, maybe send the worst behaved on a trip to a zoo so they're not in the classroom, but in the long run it's going to have little effect
What a mess. I have to say I've defended Paul for the duration of this 'incident' but I've lost all faith now. It was wrong of him to hint over the weekend that 'The Great Unmute' was actually referring to the hotel itself. It was wrong of Paul to hint over the weekend that the unmuting of the hotel would begin this week when he's now admitted it won't start until AT LEAST early next week. It was wrong of Paul to hint over the weekend that IM would be unmuted today in the hotel. Pretty much everything he's posted this weekend has been a lie to encourage users back to the site this week under the pretence that we would be able to communicate with one another again when in actual fact all we can do is post our ideas and opinions on a seperate website for Sulake to read over. There comes my next problem with this; they want this new site to be a showcase of positive ideas and opinions from loyal users so that the press can see the positive side to Habbo. But we all know that someone is bound to post something awful, as they have done on many of the C4 comment pages and that the press won't look at the positive comments; they'll just take a few of the bad ones and spin them to make another appalling story. I think this whole idea is ridiculous; they would have been better off just keeping the poll in the welcome lounge open. It's good that they want our ideas, afterall, we're the ones that play the site and therefore have the best knowledge of how it works but I think it's too late in the day for them to be taking more ideas and trying to implement them. By now they should have all their ideas together and be working on bringing them in to the hotel and reopening the services. It's worrying that a week after the C4 report they're still gathering ideas for new features which will then have to be developed and programmed into the hotel. How long exactly will this extend the hotel mute for? It's just ridiculous, to learn that the first social feature to be unlocked on the hotel will PROBABLY come at the start of next week is just another way of saying 'well, we might be ready to give you something next week, but we're not really sure yet, so just stick with us, we've given you a date now.' I feel cheated that all weekend Paul has been making posts which very much made it sound as though we would be returning to normal services this week when in actual fact they have no intention of unmuting us for AT LEAST another seven days. It's just getting ridiculous now; I'm starting to think they want to run this business into the ground. It's also unclear when Paul keeps saying that after these comments they can finalise their plans for the future of the hotel. What exactly does he mean by this? He could well be saying they're not even sure if it'll stay open; who knows, he's lied about pretty much everything else up until now.
Then there's the issue of VIP. Paul has stated on his Twitter that VIP won't run down anymore; basically, they've frozen it for the mute so it won't count down. Well mine has already run out! So what are they gonna do for users like myself? Because mine was never frozen and now it's ended. They claimed we would be compensated last week but I'm doubting that now seeing as they have said it's been frozen for current members. Doesn't help people like myself however who find their VIP has already ended during the mute before they decided to finally freeze it.
Sorry for the long post but I really am getting angry now. It was fair enough to mute as, I understand why they did it. But dragging it out for at least another week, (probably waiting for the media storm to die down completely before unmuting the hotel), misleading us for two days into believing we would have our services back this week when it won't happen until at least next week (and probably won't happen then unless there's some huge World news that C4 can fill their time with) and freezing VIP so late in the day, well, it just doesn't sit well with me. Sorry. -Rant over-

They just like to make a big show about everything they do!
I bet they have "The big unmute" furni out next to get some more money.
Thing is they should have frozen it as soon as the muted the hotel. They knew it was gonna be down for a while, not a quick fix, why has it taken them this long to freeze it? It;s ridiculous. And those who have their VIP frozen now will probably still get free days of VIP too. Which means I've still lost out whilst they've gained. It's just not fair.
What a stupid campaign... Raise your voice! Because we muted it because we're a badly run organisation! I don't get what their point is with that poll - the intentions are honourable but the execution is lousy.
They seem so hateful towards those who brought about the recent problems, while at the same time grateful. It's stupid.

When this hits 0, there not going to un-mute all are they? There doing it in baby steps, so client may not actually be un-muted untill later in week.
Correct?
Yea, i think they said that they were bringing back PM's, then chat or something.. i really dont see the point in the timer then, if they aren't fully unmuteing us.http://greatunmute.habbo.com/
