I've signed up and actived but will they accept someone that has little knowledge?you'll need to sign up on vatsim-uk, and join an RTS and do an observer->student exam

yeah, you get trained and stuff. thats the purpose of mentors. you'll have someone to guide you through it. you're expected to read up on basic stuff for your part 1 OBS>STU exam (its a theory test, /20, you need 17 or more to pass). then after you've passed your theory, you'll be assigned with a mentor (or a few, it varies) and they'll go online with you as you start off on a ground position. then you'll have a practical exam on a certain position (usually tower) and you'll be assessed on your ability. if the examiners and rtsm think you're good enough, you'll be validated and become an S1
sorry that was a large chunk of text haha, but if you need any help feel free to PM me, i've been an stansted/luton tower controller for a year and a bit, and i've had 4 or 5 sessions on heathrow tower as well.
