There is no required limit. I wish people would drop that argument, its so old and completely invalid.

Anyway, I thought I might post to clarify what the rule on filter avoidance in examples is. In threads like this, that discuss the filter and can only really be discussed by avoiding the filter to do so, it is perfectly fine to avoid the filter as long as it isn't aimed at someone else. So, for example you could say:

I think a'ss should be unfiltered because I often use it as a term for pillow.
But you can't use threads like these as an excuse to call someone one. However, don't take the piss with this rule, if you get carried away and keep avoiding the filter for the sake of it, you'll probably be infracted.

I think if it's a popular phrase it shouldn't be filtered... Hopefully whitebengals infraction is removed, because as far as I am aware the D word isn't swearing (and that's the opinion of many people, it's even defined as an obscenity!), which I believe what the filter is for, to filter out swear words:

"A2. Don't swear - It really is as simple as it sounds. The forum filter will substitute the letters of swear words with *"

The D word is an obscenity, which means a word that is offensive to certain standards, and considering the standards of Habbox Forum seem to be quite low, with the words piss and ***** considered acceptable, you would think the D word would be acceptable too.

I am actually quite shocked at the D word causing such a stir, and let me show you why!

The phrase "Tom, D and Harry" is a placeholder for multiple unspecified people; "Tom, D or Harry" plays the same role for one unspecified person. The phrase most commonly occurs as "every Tom, D and Harry", meaning everyone, and "any Tom, D or Harry", meaning anyone. The masculine names in these phrase do not in themselves imply exclusion of females, but use of either version when the context implies necessarily being female − for example, "Your mother could be any Tom D or Harry" − would normally be seen as careless or ironic.

Tom, D and Harry (1941 film)

Tom, D, and Harry are the names of three mountain peaks in the Cascade Range in Oregon, U.S.A.

The phrase is also used by english speaking medical students in memorizing the order of an artery, and a nerve, and the three tendons of the flexor retinaculum in the lower leg.

I could go on and on, but won't
It's the quality of your posts that count, not the quantity!

    Exactly.

The problem is the post should be read in context of what it is actually saying
and only edited and enforced when it is actually offensive.

This is getting beyond a joke and tbh some of the mods are looking quite silly which is a real shame.

Also if you say something extremely offensive, racist, or avoid the filter using extremely bad swear words you get the same 'punishment' as when you call somebody an idiot. :S This is hardly likely to motivate any member to behave more - they are more likely to use more offensive terms the next time they
    get fed up with somebody.

I personally think that complaints should be considered valid unless proved otherwise. Complaints are used as a basis as evaluation for customer service worldwide. It is too simplistic to say that it is people out to make trouble as this portrays the misconception that Habbox feels they are perfect and its the members that are out of step.

For the record, the infraction has been removed by Hitman. Thanks for that

I still think it's wrong that whitebengal got an infractionf r using the term "Every Tom, .... & Harry" though. Has anything been done about that yet whitebengal?

Individual infractions are not discussed on the forum, and its also considered personal information which isn't disclosed publically. If you really want to know, ask him via PM.
