
The difference is that you're not buying anything. Creating threads is an ability that every normal member has.Both very negative. You shouldn't have that mentality. You should give people, regardless of what users they are (lurkers, active, pointless repliers) as many features as possible. Are you more likely to buy a car that has lots of features that you find useful or a basic model?

Sherlock! Not every member creates threads. Why would you want to take it away from certain members? It makes little sense.
Correct because guests won't be able to see either way. However, a new member is more likely to stay with the have optimum features.
In that case, would you not argue that all new members should have all the VIP Features? Personally I don't think it's a valid point, it makes sense for only the thread poster to see who views the thread, just like reputation.
