Both very negative. You shouldn't have that mentality. You should give people, regardless of what users they are (lurkers, active, pointless repliers) as many features as possible. Are you more likely to buy a car that has lots of features that you find useful or a basic model?

The difference is that you're not buying anything. Creating threads is an ability that every normal member has.

In that case, would you not argue that all new members should have all the VIP Features? Personally I don't think it's a valid point, it makes sense for only the thread poster to see who views the thread, just like reputation.

Giving to the thread creator also makes sure of that. If they want it that much then they would post to see it on their threads.

Can you really not see a situation where someone viewing the thread who isn't the OP wants to see who viewed the thread.
