It is pretty good. The first 30-40 episodes are a tad boring.

I found the Krieg bits a bit boring rest of it i enjoyed.

Your friend is lying. Pretty much every character has turned up in the last few chapters, even very minor characters like Tatsuki, Kozenigata, Gengai, Tetsuko and Kyoushirou were blessed with a panel or two, but Takasugi and Kamui, along with the Shinsengumi, haven't shown up in ages.

Final Fantasy is awesome, too bad Paul thinks music from 13 is good... bad example of the series.
