Here's my ASUS EEE's background (got rid of Linux, running XP now, it runs good after I stuck 2gs ram in. I also moved documents and settings to my 8GB SDHC. Freed up lots of room on the SSD, not to mention writes.)

I agree, it is a pain. Docks are much more useful, they can be auto-hiden.

Docks are just as bad if they aren't the equivalent of a start bar e.g. on a Mac.

Agreed, they just get in the way and the Vista search feature pretty much does the job for me. I usually never see my desktop :eusa_whis
