I dont know when green day turned into a style, it used to be not caring what you wear or what you looked like. Now they all have uniforms.
Not having a style was their style sheesh man, everyone knew that

And Green Day have always been a pop band. If you're played on TV or the radio you're a pop band that simple. The term pop has just gotten a lot of negativity as of late since the bubblegum pop explosion. But yah, Green Day has always been pop.

Well "Pop" is hard to define. Originally punk was concidered a type of pop. Even Nirvana considered themselves pop. Genre-izing bands is hard to do and usually leads to arguements amoung people who dont relize it doesnt matter what the genre is as long as they like what they hear. Genres are the to simply guide you through music and help recomend things, not to steriotype music and people.

exactly... there was a time when pop wasn't a bad thing... you were either on the REM side of pop or the Micheal Bolton side of pop. It's just short for popular so like I said, if you're on TV or the radio you are pop.

    Nirvana:
How do we categorize our sound? We're pop. We're rock. We're pop rocks that crackle on the top of your tounge.
And genres are pretty much worthless to me. That's why I try not to use them. But at the same time I don't like seeing uncreative/untalented bands classifly themselves in the same category that bands that I respect are generalized in... it's a 50/50 thing to me
