I'll find out tomorrow, when my lovely DS comes...even though I still won't have the wi-fi thing.
I would have thought it wouldn't be dangerous to give out, I mean wouldn't it just be similar to an ip address? It wouldn't have any personal information, so, and this is aimed at the people who don't want to give out their code thingy - please explain what and why you're worried about it?

If you give out your code, then they can add you to your friends list. And maybe some people don't want to play others for some reason.
Also, when AC: WW comes out you wont want people you dont know coming to your town and chopping down your trees.
I think PM-ing people your code is much better.

Erm, you have a town in Animal Crossing and you plant trees/flowers...etc. Now you wouldn't want a stranger coming to your town a ruining it for you..would you? (Thats if he/she has your MAC code).

lmao. Sharing Mac codes only allows the person to play you at games and other things. According to nintendo, it is safe to use. I unfortunately do not have a DS.
