I beg your pardon? Me being away for 'x' ammount of days has nothing to do with my trial. The batch of moderators I have been with have all been on trial for a good 3-4 weeks now, when the normal period is 2.. this was due to holidays.

I have been doing lots of work, and my ability to moderate should be looked at through the times that I was there instead of the times I wasn't.

Yep they always thank them no matter what and he gave like 7 more words to say he was joining the army and you are now praising him :s

Sometimes when we make announcements and dont give alot of information its because the person who resigned didnt want the reason they were leaving putting up, which is understandable for some.
