If shes a good friend she'll understand, and if you explain everything, maybe things will be back to how they were. Maybe do somthing with kate that you havent done for a while... Somthing she will enjoy?

Not everyone can expand their friend circle. I had the same thing happened to me, in a way. My friend got a girlfriend and then he drifted away from me. But I didn't fight it, I gave up on him from the start..
