It's happened to me numerous times. It's a script.
The other option is that they go on your account and accept you; but I highly doubt that...

I have had a few freaks appear on my list and thought I must be going mad and accepting them by mistake :s You must be pretty sad adding yourself to another persons list though :s maybe they should get their own friends.
