I would have floor of different coloured rugs along with paras as they usually make a room more colourful.

When the rooms full the floors are unnoticble so it looks cool but i know about the flags

Why didnt you put flag across door... your trying to make a bright colourful room then you just got a big black whole ! Kinda draws ya attention to it.
