I've never seen anyone calling someone else a show-off on here for their articles, seeing as the idea is that you show it off because you're proud of it, so a comment like that would be pointless. Also, about "realistic details {of} actual purpose", that's not arrogance, a good story needs to have some scientific backing. You don't have to have long words and fancy equations, but if you're going to write about the moon blowing up, you should at least study up on what effects that would actually have rather than just saying OMGZ TIDAL WAVE.Originally Posted by Yazamiinx

No, I'm nothing close to 1337, I simply have a very good understanding of how the English language works, and it annoys the hell out of me when I see it being thrown around so badly. Text speak is fine if you're writing online or in a text because that's what it's for, and perhaps in texts or online you can have stuff like "Oh my GOD!!!!11!1" rather than a simple "Oh my God!", but in books it looks unprofessional. Arrogant I'll let you get away with, because yes I am arrogant, I believe myself to be pretty good at most stuff that I try, and storywriting is one of those things. Again, if you don't like criticism (and this is constructive criticism, ie: here to help) then don't write.Originally Posted by Yazamiinx
