People spend money on credits because they want to have extra features for their Habbo experience. It's like asking why people spend money on Habbox VIP. "/

It's clearly not needed, but its used to have extra features.

If it's just a game, then why bother posting about it? If you're so concerned with people buying them, then start a petition, haha.

I agree that Habbo Credits are a complete and utter waste of money. You are paying for pixels which are just not worth it.

I used to play Habbo a while ago. I did buy credits. Now, looking back, and realising habbo is a worthless piece of crap, I really do regret it.

Habbo make the game so damn addictive, and make you pay out of your teeth for credits. 10p for an amount that can only buy you a stool? Pfft. And what, £2.50 for a stupid green sofa? You are totally losing out. Despite the fact you could probably by a chair anyway from IKEA for £3, you are buying pixelated furniture which you have no guarantee of. Heh, it's not even yours.

"The furniture is property of Sulake ltd and you are simply paying for the right to use it."

It also says in the T&C's somewhere that if habbo closed down no refunds are available.

Habbo make the game 'addictive' so people buy credits, not much, just to try it. They find out they need 2 more-or so credits for whatever, so buy more. They keep buying and buying.

I also agree about the Habbox VIP point. I've only payed (myself) for my VIP for 1 period, the one I am currently using now. Before this I used Habbo furniture I won in the Habbox Competitions.

    In conclusion,
    Habbo f/cking sucks.

Well, it's not really a matter of who's spending money on what since there are hundreds of other games that require monthly subscriptions or payment for extra features, like Habbo. There are many MMOs that have become increasingly popular despite their expensive cost. Point being, Habbo isn't really doing anything illegal, they just constructed a community in the right place at the right time. That's another thing as well- Habbo isn't a game, it's a massive chatroom which offers people a more intuitive way of communicating than using only text.

Nothing can be made addictive on purpose, and I believe it was just that at the time it was created, there were very few online communities and Sulake provided the public with something new.
