The PS3's price is not consumer priced friendly, but it's not ridiculously expensive either. Many electronic shops and outlets like to bundle their hardware and sell it at very high prices. Some shops are known to sell their whole inventories on eBay to gain a better profit, and therefore, having all the hardware at the store 'sell out' in 2 hours and causing a shortage of that hardware. This is one of the reasons there was a shortage on 360s.

Also, it's normal for the pricing of things i nthe UK be a little higher than the US because of taxes and such. Cost of living there also caries form the US, which is cheaper (in the US).

Without being too generalising, Americans get paid less. It costs Americans less to live.

Of course we have to pay more.

Did nobody see it coming? I mean... We pay more for everything. If I'm correct I think us Brits pay 4 or 5 times more for our petrol.

wouldn't it just be so cool if Sony released the official price 1 week before release. Saying it's only $200 and the games are gonna be $60. That would blow the market away.
