Because the Al Kharid bank is a few paces away from the Al Kharid Furnace, and the Varrock Anvils are a few paces away from the Varrock Banks.

But if mining in dwarven mines it would be quicker to go straight to falador and walk a few more paces to furnace and anvils instead of going to Al kharid

That's just dumb.... it'd be quicker if you mined the ores then straight away smelt them and made them into stuff. But what you do is mine loads of ores, walk to Al - Kharid or tele ro Lumbridge for it to be quicker, make loads of bars, then walk or tele to Varrock and makes loads of things.

Mine and Melt at al kharid. (iron/Steel) Then when you have a few hundred bars tele/walk/canoe down to varrock and use the anvils. This is the quickest f2p i believe.
