Everyone feels secure having something solid underneath them to fall back on. Just remember that planes are designed to stay in the air and they wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a runway if they couldn't do their job.

i don't really have any tips. i love flying. try closing the window thing so you can't see out and watch the TV and you shouldn't think about it too much.

Haha, I'm kind of opposite of you. I get very excited when I go on a plane ride.
But anyway, alot of the points have been mentioned already, yes. More people die from dropping coconuts than from plane rides.
