    Their old stuff was better.

    New stuff is, rubbish.

I prefer to listen to good music.

No they're not flipping punk. Punk bands don't even try to be mainstream anyway and barely are cos not many people like punk. They certainly aren't any more punk than Rancid or NOFX and neither of them are mainstream either. They are not true punk or even part punk anymore. Yes their older stuff is better and a bit more punk but they lost that touch.

Way to make yourself look stupid. Nice to know also that you'll "hate" me for saying that Green Day are a disgrace to punk.

Green Day are not in the slightest bit punk. The only connection to punk that they have is that they use very simple riffs, but they don't look or sound punk at all. I'm not bothered about them going mainstream, as I'd probably do the same if it would get me a load of money, what gets me is that they call themselves punk or punk-rock when they're blatantly pop-rock. Damned ugly too.

Yes, Green Day's old stuff was better, but honestly, I cant blame them for changing. You need to change when you have been around for so long. There are only so many songs about jacking off, getting dumped and being lazy that you could possibly sing. Sure, I dont listen to new green day (and I hate those who didnt even know they were a band before AI) but I can actually respect what they are doing. I dont recall them ever even saying their new stuff is punk anyway, not that it matters because argueing what genre something is is stupid. Dookie will always be their best album, and my favorite album, but they still deserve to be around. Target your anger twards radio which has American Idiot on repeat 24 hours a day. Twards the kids who arent even aware there is pre-american idiot material yet still claim they are huge fans. Not twards people who just plain like them.

By the way, musicians get mad at stupid fans all the time. I saw on youtube Thom Yorke saying to an excesivly screaming woman 'shut up you stupid c**t' right in the middle of a song-- and just kept singing.
I agree with Sam, as I do on most musical issues :]

I like their old stuff, new stuff way too overplayed and way too garbage.

I could go on for hours arguing with some of you, but honestly, you think you're right, I think I'm right so...

Have you actually taken the time to listen to them, and to explore the message they are trying to give out to us? I bet you haven't actually bothered to listen to them, I was the same, then I got into it a lot more ¬_¬

EDIT: Oh, and btw, notice how someone says 'Their old stuff was better, new stuff is rubbish' and someone else says it -.-

Because it's true. Its not like one person thought theyre old stuff was better and everyone followed-- everyone knows. Dookie is one of the greatest albums ever, and thats not even just me saying it, even music critics think so.

I like them for the music and not who they are. Why can't they just be musicians and not put into groups like emo or goth or chav.
