What do you class as a professional layout "/ look around at big sites, most the time there layouts arnt actualy that impressive and quite easly within the capability of many of the members here
Plus java doesnt necessary need to be compiled, thats only realy for optermisation? java is run in a way somewhat simialr to javascript, except its interpreted by the java plugin as opposed to the browser.
Such as flash files (which are always compiled) are interpited by the flash plugin "/
Anyway would it be possible to see some exsamples? and are they actaly layouts or just pictures?
