In the Sims 2, you're capable of making it an almost real life experience. Compare the Sims 2 to the original Sims, the original Sims never died apart from either drowning or dieing of hunger/in a fire. They didn't even get the flu or anything.

I'm looking forward to getting the Pet's edition as you can actually create your pet like you create your sim, unlike The Sims Unleashed.

You play with people, create businesses try to be the top of the catagory ladder etc, you canc raft and stuff, rares and money based economy.

sims 2 loads slow if your PC isnt fast enough . Sims 1 was amazing because the graphics were just perfect :p.

However I think sims 2 pets will look so much better than sims 1 pets.
I love the out of business expansion of sims 2 because its just elite .

Aw - you should try setting the graphics to low, and turning off any fancy effects, it might help a bit. I still do that on my system although I upgraded like a mad a couple of months back because I really don't like how detailed the game can be sometimes.

If you get any of the more recent stuff/expansion packs you might need to buy a new graphics card. They changed the specifications - odd that they did that in the middle of a series

Hey, Sims 2 is way better than the original Sims.. Sims 2 will probably get better and better like in the new Sims 2 Pet edition actually creating you Pet for once ;P

The Sims 2 Pets is out today! [in US] And available to download from the EA site. If we want to buy a copy with the actual CD then we will have to wait untill Friday. I'm not really fussed about it, once I started playing online games I went off the sims 2.

I started playing TS2 again today and my guy died.. Pets comes out tomorrow, don't know if I'll get it.

I like the sims 1 better.
