Atleast she lived that long. My grandfather lived 5 months with Lung cancer. Just kept on getting worse. I was his favorite grandchild. And since i was about 4 we were like best friends and i felt this great strong bond between us but when i grew up as a teen, that bond slowly weakend as i didnt see him more often. I messed up. I shouldve. Now that he died my whole family hates each other because of something in the will.

That's a shame really People who are no way in related to you, but talk to you often are alot like family that you sometimes forget their not. I don't think you're a child, it would be kinda childish holding it, doing more damage. It is mature to cry over something like this, everyone can do it.

I cried over the death of my cat which I had for most my life, I considered an old close friend or brother AND this is a cat.

She most likely left life happy, without suffering any longer, which is a good thing I've only been to one funeral, and I cried and it was over a similar thing. I used to help this old woman who lived in my village get to my churches coffee morning, and I grew to think of her as a second grandma. When she passed away, I was torn apart, but times passes on and, although she will be missed, she's gone and isn't suffering anymore (she broke her hip which caused big problems for her).

If anyone says you are a baby because of that they are insensitive ******** as I remember holding back the tears at my nan's funeral and then they all came floodying out, but even my dad was crying and it wasn't his mum, and I cry sometimes just thinking about my nan and grandad who both passed away.

You definately shouldn't hold it in, you should let it all out.
